Food Blogger Acquires Gout, Proud of It! huh?!

Yes, it’s true! “The king of diseases and the disease of kings!” Such is my total devotion to Citysearch readers that, thanks to my nightly travels, so amply chronicled on my twitter stream, I have gotten the ailment all men long for. What a triumph! Of course, there is the physical downside — a painful inflammation of the right toe joint, and a concomitant reduction in mobility — but what is the point of living in a city so rife with pork belly confits, foie gras-stuffed chickens, testa ravioli, yorkshire puddings, and ramen bars?

Read more about it on his food blog post. I left a comment there as well – http://www.the-feedbag.com/a-feedbag-afoot/i-have-gout

It was also reported on another aggregator – http://www.gadling.com/2009/01/23/food-blogger-picks-up-gout-pride/print/

Minor Attack on Right Foot

I am currently experiencing another minor attack. I limped to work Basically, my right ankle and the upper surface area of my right foot is slightly swelling. I have to wear sandals to work to allow the area room to breath, will apply ice or some form of compression to prevent it from swelling further.

I have stopped Allopurinol(uric acid management) for the time being, as consuming that will worsen the situation. I’m now back to Cholchiccine(swelling management) and Tramadol(pain management). Hopefully, this minor attack can be arrested within today.

If I recollect back, the likely cause for this is probably the McDonalds MegaBig Mac I had yesterday, which was my first consumption of beef in many weeks. Although it may be easy to just blame the consumption, I thought one single point of consumption should not trigger that much of a reaction. Apparently, I was wrong. So, for now, it’s back to boring diet again.

Right Foot

This is to show the area that I’m feeling most painful. It is from area (3) and area (4). By most account, this is not exactly the most mobile area of the foot, but the pain is painful enough such that it affects the joints adjoining to area (1) & (2).

Will update when I can.
